The world’s best luxury hotel brands for 2024 have been named – according to elite travel advisors at LTI – Luxury Travel Intelligence.

And for the second year in a row, Hong Kong-based Mandarin Oriental Hotels took the top spot.

The exclusive brand flies just three flags in the United States — including one here in the Big Apple, high above Columbus Circle.

To determine the winners, the pampering professionals said they created an algorithm that analyzed 130 “touch points” important to the luxury hotel sector.

“The focus is on a brand’s ability to deliver its passion, commitment, ethos and values, along with the quality of its management and staff,” the group said in a statement.

“Continuing investment and how it is used are also important factors, especially in relation to new properties and the renovation of existing ones,” they continued.

Oetker Collection Hotels was listed as the third best luxury hotel brand. Pictured is Hotel La Palma in Capri. LTI – Luxury Travel Intelligence
Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts made the ranking — the Florence, Italy property is one of the city’s most sought-after (and most expensive) addresses. LTI – Luxury Travel Intelligence

Mandarina currently operates 40 hotels and a host of branded residential properties in 26 countries and territories.

The original Hong Kong hotel opened in 1963.

Bulgari, Oetker Collection, Six Senses and Aman completed the top five.

Auberge Resorts’ Wildflower Farms has made waves in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Several brands – Bulgari, Dorchester Collection and COMO – entered the list for the first time.

“Bulgari’s involvement is particularly important as they are a highly focused and well-run organization, with each property offering a true ultra-luxury guest experience,” Michael Crompton, LTI’s founder, said in a statement.

Of the winning group, Aman, Rosewood, Auberge, Four Seasons and Peninsula all have locations in New York.

“With ongoing senior management changes across brands, continued attractive investment levels and aggressive competition in pursuit of growing high net worth travel spend, who knows what the coming year will bring,” Crompton said.

Here is the full list of winners.
